I’m sure that 1 of 10 girls think that she doesn’t look good when her lips are covered in red color. I think that this girl just haven’t found the right shade for her skin yet. There is a hue of the red color specially designed for your skin complexion and you should constantly try on different shades from different brands until you find the one that suits you best.

And when you find, you have to learn how to apply red lipstick. The rule applies for any other dark colored lipstick. Here are the steps:

• The dark colored lipsticks usually enhance all the flaws of the lips. Which means that you will have to eliminate these flaws. The most frequent ones are dead skin, dry cuticles, cracks, black heads on the edge of the mouth, thin hairs above the upper lip. You can get rid of all these flaws with lips scrub, petroleum jelly and tweezers or facial wax (in case you have hair above the upper lip).
• Once the skin of the lips is soft and perfect, you can start with the application of the color.
• First, prepare the lids with a lip balm and a little bit of concealer. This base will contribute to long lasting color afterwards.
• Another factor for the long lasting color is the lip pencil layer. Line the lips with red lip pencil and fill them in with the very same color.
• And finally, you can apply the lipstick.
• If it is not matte, but you want a matte finish, you can apply the trick with the tissue and the setting powder as it is shown in the picture down below.
• If there are any mistakes, you can fix them with concealer and a soft brush. Smudge the concealer with a sponge if needed in order to blend with the skin complexion.
